It is aimed to evaluate the perspectives of story books. It was planned to include parents who have awareness of reading culture in the study, so the participants who followed the Instagram page named Kütüp-Anne Platform formed the sample group. The online link of the study was created by transferring the Perspectives of Parents with 36-72 Months Child Parents' Perspectives on Illustrated Story Books prepared by the researcher to Google Forms. An announcement was made to the target audience by sharing them in the post and story sections of the link Kütüp-Anne Platform instagram page. In the form, the parents' perspectives were arranged as pragmatic, aesthetic, both pragmatic and aesthetic, and preference/no answer. SPSS 26.0 package program was used in the statistical analysis of the collected data, and it was analyzed with the Chi-Square Test statistic. Post hoc power analysis was performed to calculate the effect size of the study, and Cramer V coefficient was taken into account during the analysis process. The evaluations show that parents see reading as a beneficial action, but they care about making the reading process enjoyable and pleasurable, so they guide their children in this regard. It was emphasized by the literature review that the current variables emphasized in the literature and used in the study shape the cognitions of parents, and that these cognitions greatly affect the acquisition of reading culture, and it was evaluated with the findings of the study. The fact that the participants pragmatically determine the book topics they prefer and the topic preferences in picture story books also indicates the importance of parent cognition. In many variables, the importance of parents' attitudes and behaviors was underlined, and the importance of making sense of parental cognitions in future studies and intervention programs was emphasized.
