entities that are based on human. This effect also affects the periodical data of the
companies and the financial ratios obtained from these data. Data Envelopment
Analysis is a non-parametric analysis method based on linear modeling. In this
method, it is aimed to measure the relative efficiency of decision making units (DMU)
that produce homogeneous outputs by using homogeneous inputs. In this thesis,
how the financial performance based efficiencies of companies in the information
technology sector traded in BIST were affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, which
affects many sectors positively or negatively, is examined. In addition, it is aimed to
investigate the effect of the Covid-19 epidemic on the periodical efficiency average
by determining the periods with the highest and lowest average efficiency from
quarterly periods between 2019:03 and 2021:06 in terms of financial performance
efficiency. By using Window Analysis, the periodical efficiency averages were
compared, the general trend of the companies was examined according to the
average efficiency of each window for each of the company and the average
efficiency of the companies were compared with the general average. As a result,
due to inevitable changing situations such as epidemics affect the countries; it is
aimed that this thesis will shed light on both the comparison and evaluation studies
for the informatics sector and similar studies for other sectors to be made in our
country in the future.
