Abstract

Video art is one of the most significant modes of expression of today's art. The ever-evolving living nature of the century we live in and social, cultural, economic, technological and scientific advances have added diversity to the pursuit of art. This lively structure allowed the artists to create new visual expressions using different techniques and styles. At this point, while contemporary art objects and works turn into an object of thought, the developments following this transformation have offered new approaches to artists. While the unique approach of video art distinguishes it self from cinema; This feature also expands the limits of the artist. The combination of technology and traditional art elements allows for more innovative approaches. What is meant to be emphasized with "innovation" here is to build image bridges between the past, present and future. Combining the traditional art language with contemporary technologies has enabled the artists to reveal new image interpretations. The leading motif of this thesis is to build bridges between tradition and innovation and to create new image collages. Combining ancient expression techniques such as painting, oil painting, collage with the new expression possibilities offered by technology to art and establishing dialogues between them is another problem that this thesis has.
