Sanat Nesnesi Algısında Yalınlık
Özet
Plainness in art can be summarized as an artistic approach which tries to gain independence from subjective judgements. It examines topics such as subject’s perception of object and abstains from making knowledge a part of the artwork. Relationship between the artwork and reality that can be observed in artists such as Malevich, Mondrian and Gabo have made an alternative approach about the subject and the object possible. Although these names might differ in thought, in means of plainness, there is a considerable similarity and their discourse overlaps on one idea; the perception of the object and the information of the subject are different states of existence. This report aims to determine the characteristic traits of plainness and trace its effects in perception of the artwork.
