In this thesis, three degree of freedom motion of the air to ground smart munitions is modeled, dynamically and kinematically. A semi-empirical method is presented related to munition’s aerodynamic coefficient calculations. Ballistic range envelope is calculated by simulations. An iterative controller design algorithm is proposed for angle of attack control and acceleration autopilot mechanisms. The results regarding the target engagement range and miss distance of the munition are studied under proportional navigation and pursuit guidance algorithms.
