In this study, the causality relationship between the foreign direct investments (FDI) in the accommodation and food service activities in Turkish tourism sector and tourism revenue has been analyzed. The importance of the study has increased due to the facts that the studies in the literature focus on the relationship between the tourism revenue and growth and no empirical study has been known to us in the literature that analyzes the causality relationship between FDI in the accommodation and food service activities and tourism revenue. The purpose of this study in which the data for Turkey s tourism revenue and FDI in the accommodation and food service activities in the years between 2007 and 2012 have been used is to examine the characteristics of FDI in the accommodation and food service activities in the tourism sector specifically for Turkey and the contributions of these investments on the sector s development and growth.
