Arkeolojik Alanlarda Yerinde Sergileme Kavramı: Phaselıs Hadrıanus Kapısı Örneği
Özet
The awareness and sensibility for the protection and sustainability of the cultural heritage can be gained by introducing, exhibiting and informing the artefacts to the society. The success in exhibiting the assets turns the exhibitions into an educational organization. The in-situ exhibition which is the subject of this study is addressed in terms of, its applications in archaeological areas, by providing dimensional, technical, aesthetic, and perceptual requirements, informing the visitors and protecting the artefacts in place. During the exhibition, the process of exhibiting the exhibition elements with technological methods is mentioned in the context of the relationship between the visitor, object and place. The structure chosen as the application area is the Hadrian’s Gate located in the Ancient city of Phaselis. The blocks of this demolished monumental building are scattered in the area and cannot be perceived by the visitors. In this context, in-situ exhibition methods have been applied in order to exhibit the area with a holistic approach and to enable visitors to perceive the structure correctly. In order to prepare the exhibition elements, the blocks of the ancient gate were documented by using digital imaging methods and three-dimensional precise models were obtained. Each block is prepared with the help of digital studies following the originals by applying organic and solid modeling methods. Finally, a representative model of the door is designed to be displayed on site by producing the structural elements with a three-dimensional printer. Along with other exhibition elements positioned in the area, an archaeological monument is synthesized with the aesthetic and perceptual dimensional concepts embodied in the discipline of interior architecture by using digital methods, and the study is presented to the attention of the visitors and it is aimed to create a cultural awareness about the area. In this way, it is aimed to raise the awareness of visitors about cultural heritage and offer a new approach to the exhibition techniques associated with the discipline of interior architecture.
