Özet
For the duration of their treatment, mental patients maintain their lives within the psychiatric hospital environments. Mental patients who stay in the psychiatric hospital are the individuals who had to leave the environments they are familiar with and they fight their illness within unfamiliar environments where they live with people they don’t know. During the healing process, to fullfill patients’ entire physiological, social and psychological needs by hospital environments is an important factor in normalization of their lives and deinstitutionalization. All the stimulus in the physical environment, design of the places and spatial layout affect patients’ treatments positively or negatively as well as the treatment methods that are applied, doctors’ and hospital staff’s approaches.
