Periodontitisli Hastalarda Matriks Metalloproteinaz-9 ve Tümör Nekrozis Faktör-Reseptör 2 Gen Polimorfizmlerinin İncelenmesi
Özet
Periodontitis is a gingival disease resulting in destruction of tissue around the tooth. As a complex disease, periodontitis is responsible of 10 to 15 percent of tooth loss detected in various populations. Recent studies have suggested that periodontitis is associated with gene polymorphism. TNF-α gene polymorphism is one of them which have an important role in periodontitis pathogenesis. Cell surface receptors of TNF-α are TNF receptor 1 (TNF-R1, p55 TNF-R) and TNF receptor 2 (TNF-R2, p75 TNF-R). Recent studies have shown that TNF-R2 (+587) T G gene polymorphism is associated with periodontitis. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) polymorphisms are also related to periodontitis. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a family of about 25 enzymes and are involved in periodontal tissue remodeling and degradation. In some studies, individuals carrying MMP-9, -1562 T allele shown to have less risk for chronic periodontitis. The aim of this study was to analyze TNFR-2 (+587) T G and MMP-9 (-15
