Abstract

In Turkey in late 1990s, problems emerged in social security field like the disruption of balance of income and expenditure, decrease in asset–liability ratio have brought into the agenda a need for reform efforts in social security system. As a result of these reform efforts, individual pension system has been put into practice as a supplimentary to the existing social insurance system.For reliability and sustainability of the individual pension system, it is very important to keep people within the system. There are many factors that influence the period spent within the individual pension system. In this research, the survival analysis, which is used in analysis of positively defined random variables and is defined as a collection of statistical techniques, is employed for examining the factors infleuncing the time spent within the individual pension system.
