In this study, the humorous elements in the Turkish Politics between the years 2002 and 2011 have been researched. The study consists of three main sections besides the introduction and conclusion. In section one, we present the relation between humor and laughter, while trying to explain their distinctions. We explain the psychological states and the way for the emergence of humor with three generally accepted humor theories. We give examples from the world literature and depict how Turkish thinkers define the humor. We give information on satire, wit, irony, joke, mockery, and cartoon as the types of humor. We tried to explain the political humor, which denominates our study, on the basis of its distinctions from sexual humor and ethnic humor that take part in the humor areas.
