| dc.description.abstract | This thesis investigates the Russian pilgrimage journeys to Jerusalem and its environs within the context of building the cultural and religious ties relating Russia with this region and with the 19th century, the roles of Russian pilgrims of promoting the communication lines in constituting Russia s Pan-Orthodox policies towards the Orthodox peoples living in the Eastern Mediterranean region. Within this framework, this study aims to present the instrumental roles of the travels of Russian pilgrims to the Holy Land in promoting Russian imperial interests and the effects of this situation to the political and social relations of the Ottoman State and Imperial Russia. | tr_TR |

| dc.description.ozet | Bu çalışma, Kudüs ve civarına yapılan Rus hac seyahatlerini, Rusya yı bu bölge ile kültürel ve dinî olarak birleştiren bağları kurmak ve 19. yüzyılla birlikte Rusya nın, Osmanlı nın Doğu Akdeniz havzasında yaşayan Ortodokslarına yönelik Pan-Ortodoks siyasetlerinin inşasında iletişim kanallarını oluşturmak bağlamında ele almıştır. Bu çerçevede, çalışmamız Rus hacıların Kutsal Topraklar a seyahatlerinin bölgedeki Rus emperyal çıkarlarının ilerletilmesi bakımından araçsal rolünü ve bu durumun Osmanlı Devleti ile Çarlık Rusya sının siyasî ve toplumsal ilişkilerine etki ve yansımalarını ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. | tr_TR |
