Kadın Cinayetleri: Eşini Öldüren Erkekler Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Abstract

In recent years in Turkey, femicide has become a social problem which keeps the public agenda occupied. The penultimate and ferocious result of violence against women definitely occurs when women lose their lives. There are several reasons account for femicide which is the most serious consequence of physical violence. Statistical analyses of research results indicate that the violence women face is committed mostly by their husbands and males with whom they have close familial relationships. This study concentrates on a kind of femicide, husbands murdering their wives. How males intentionally decide to murder their wives or ex-wives, and what kind of societal factors affect these decision making process will be scrutinized in this thesis. In this regard, statistical analyses of data gather from archives of Gendarmerie which is a law enforcement agency will be presented.
