Özet
The aim of this study is to analyze how the elements that may create difficulties to thetranslator are translated in the two different translations of Paul Auster’s novel City ofGlass and to determine the strategies implemented by the translators in the light ofVenuti’s domestication and foreignization approaches. Additionally, by choosingVenuti’s theory of the translator’s invisibility as a basis, the aim of this thesis is todetermine which translator is more visible or invisible. To this end, Paul Auster’s Cityof Glass, in which challenging elements for translators are often used and which isknown for its postmodern style has been chosen for the purpose of this study and thetwo different Turkish translations of City of Glass done by Yusuf Eradam (1993) andİlknur Özdemir (2004) have been analyzed.
