Maksiller Anterior Çekim Soketlerinde Tersiyer Iyileşmenin Krestal Kemik Rezorpsiyonuna Etkisinin Konik Işınlı Bilgisayarlı Tomografi Kullanılarak Değerlendirilmesi

In this study, alveolar bone remodelling which occured in maxillary anterior extraction sockets by healing of tertiary intervention was investigated within the first 3 months and tertiary healing was compared with secondary healing in the same patient. A total of 20 extraction sockets in 10 patients were included in the study. 10 extraction socket surfaces were covered with the free gingival graft harvested from hard palate although 10 extraction sockets healed spontaneous healing. All patients were performed cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) immediately after teeth extractions and 3 months later and assessed vertical and horizontal dimensions of buccal and lingual crestal bone. After 3 months, the mean change of vertical buccal crestal bone is -1,03 mm, the mean change of vertical lingual crestal bone is -0,56 mm, the mean change of horizontal buccal bone is -1,22 mm and the mean change of horizontal lingual bone is -0,56 mm in the extraction sockets healed by secondary intervention. The mean change of vertical buccal crestal bone is +0,06 mm, the mean change of vertical lingual crestal bone is +0,25 mm, the mean change of horizontal buccal bone is -0,99 mm and the mean change of horizontal lingual bone is -0,59 mm in the extraction sockets healed by tertiary intervention. The differences of vertical buccal and vertical lingual bone crests between secondary and tertiary healing is statistical significance. The results from this study suggest that application of free gingival graft is effective to protect vertical dimension of buccal and lingual bone crests and this technique can be accepted as an alveolar ridge preservation technique.
