Seramik Uygulamalarla Tüketim Kültürünün Eleştirisi

Abstract

The aim of this study is to try to understand of how consumption culture which based on materiality occurs, evolves and affects human life in terms of psychological, sociological and economic aspects throughout human history , and with that to criticize the perception of human being herself/himself and her/his environment, way of his/her thinking and how she/he shapes the life according to the his/her preferences with these perspective by artistic language . In the first part of the artwork report, information and determinations that form the basis of the content of the works in the second and third sections are included. This section examines the process that brings the human to its consumption-oriented life from the first existence and examines the psychological effects of this process on human beings by concepts such as arrogance, objectification, alienation and the impacts on ecology through datas such as global warming, pollution, environmental disasters. In the second part, the artists who work on the consumption habits of our age culture and the results of this habits are included with their artwork. In the third part, personal works which is carried out on ceramic forms and surfaces in the content of the art report are included.
