Oral Kemoterapi İlaç Kullanan Kanser Hastalarında Motivasyonel Görüşme Temelli Danışmanlığın İlaç Uyumu ve Öz-Etkililiğe Etkisi

The aim of this study, which was conducted in the randomized controlled experimental study, was to determine the effect of motivational interview-based counseling on drug adherence and self-efficacy in cancer patients using at least one cure oral chemotherapy drug.The study was carried out between October1st 2017 and June 17th 2018 with cancer patients who refered to Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital (ANEAH)outpatient clinic. The research sample consisted of 80 patients, 40 for intervention group and 40 control group selected by stratified randomization according to the gender of the patients. The researcher provided a total of five motivational interview-based counseling services, to the intervention group face-to-face for the 1st meeting and four more times by phone-callsday 7, 3-6-9.The control group did not undergo any interventions other than routine patient care. "Personal Information Form", "Attachment to Drug Treatment Attachment / Self-Efficacy Scale (MASES)" and " Oral Chemotherapy Adherence Scale (OCAS)" were used for the collection of research data. The research data were collected on the first day of the study and the 12th week. At the end of the study, the level of drug adherence and self efficacy of patients who received motivational interviewbased counseling by phone-call increased significantly (p <0.001). In addition, the level of drug self-efficacy of patients increased (p <0.001). According to these results, it has been proposed to provide motivational interview consultation based on telephone with cancer patients receiving oral chemotherapy.
