Menakıbnamelerin Yapısalcı Yöntemler İle İncelenmesi

Abstract

This thesis takes up the issue of using Islamic hagiographies (menakıpname) as historical sources. The need of examining hagiographies methodologically makes necessary using structualist methods on hagiographies. For this reason the method of Propp that one of the structualist methods is seen as suitable for this research. This method was used on hagiographies which is choosen for this research. Firstly, the sources that forming the hagiography narration is defined. In this way, it’s pointed out that hagiographies is formed around a common culture of narration. This situation makes possible using structualist methods on hagiographies. In that way we can examine the data that taken from hagiographies more academically. According to us this research that used on limited time and data will lead to more extensive researches in that area.
