Abstract

The purpose of this study which is about the periodical comparison of the activities of BritishCouncil Turkey is to analyze the operations of the said organization and thereby suggest thetransformation from cultural propaganda to cultural diplomacy.Framework of the research has been established by the observation of culture industry, education,arts, social practices, etc. with regard to culture, cultural propaganda, cultural diplomacy,gravity of culture in international relations and periodical meanings attributed to culture.Outcomes of the study have demonstrated that, it is possible to monitor the impact of cultureon Turco-British relations and the transformation from cultural propaganda to cultural diplomacyby means of transparency out of the activities of British Council which have 74 years of history in Turkey.
