Özet
The aim of this study to investigate the effects of isokinetik and aerobic exercise training on pain, functional activity and serum pro-inflammatory cytokine levels [which are known to increase 2-3 times in osteoarthritis(OA)] in patients with knee OA in comparison with a control group. A total of 40 postmenopausal women and men with knee OA consistent with American College of Rheumatology (ACR) diagnostic criteria and who have grade 2 or 3 knee OA according to Kellgren – Lawrence radiologic criteria. 40 patients are randomized to isokinetic exercise group, aerobic exercise group and a control group. In treatment groups patients are included in pre-determined exercise programs 3 times per week for 6 weeks. Evaluation of pain with Visual Analog Scale (VAS), functional activity with Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), muscle strength with Biodex isokinetic system, functional capacity with 6 minutes walking test and 30 seconds sit and stand test and ser
