Karpal Tünel Sendromu Tedavisinde Platelet – Rich Plazma Enjeksiyonunun Etkinliği

The aim of the study was to investigate the use of platelet – rich plasma (PRP) injection in treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), by obtaining first data about effectiveness and safety of PRP injection in treatment of CTS. With this purpose, 40 hands with mild – moderate, idiopathic CTS were recruited to the study. 20 hands were included in the control group and 20 hand in the PRP group. In control group, patients were recommended activity modification and used static wrist splint in neutral position at nights for 4 weeks. In PRP group, in addition to the same recommendations, single dose, perineural PRP injection into the carpal tunnel was applied at the beginning of the study. In both groups patients were not given any other treatment, and were allowed to use only paracetamol for analgesia.
