of Health Sciences, Program of Child Development and Education, Ms. A. Thesis,
Ankara, 2019. This study was conducted to examine the “Meraklı Minik” and “Bilim
Çocuk” popular science magazines published monthly by TÜBITAK in terms of the
articles in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Sixteen issues
published in different seasons of both journals constituted the data source of the
research in total. Content analysis, which is one of the qualitative research methods
was used to analyze the current data and evaluated in terms of positive and negative
usage. In the magazines analysed both textually and visually, very few examples were
encountered as negative use of children rights. In the magazines respectively from
most to the least; right of participation, right of development and right of protection
were given place.
