Sanatta Bedensel ve Zihinsel Sınırlar: Uzuv-Uzantı Olarak Sanat Pratikleri
Özet
This report, under the title of “Physical and Mental Boundaries in Art: Art Practices as Limb-Extension”, focuses on the physical space of the relationship between the body and the object of art and the means of production in the production process, while at the same time extending the art object as the carrier of the image and thought as a starting point. Based on this proposition, the physical and sensory relations and sensory spaces and the changes and transformations of sensory spaces in this relationship are tried to be addressed.
In the first part, the concept and scope of technology are discussed and the traces of the mutual development relationship of technology-human association are tried to be traced in human history. In this historical relationship, the transformative effects of productions called technology on human nature have been examined through biological and cultural foundations.
In the second part, the interaction of technology, body and art has been examined and in this context, the place of body perception in the history of thought has been tried to be put forward in general terms through opposing thoughts. The ways in which the perception of body affects the relationships between man and his environment are examined through the relationship between art, technology and body. At this point, the conceptual framework of the relationship between technology and body is determined as the limb-extension that constitutes the main idea of the report. At the same time, within the framework of this relationship, the reflections of art, technology and body on 20th and 21st century art practices were tried to be discussed.
In the third part, the applications created within the framework of the concepts discussed in the report are discussed in two chapters under the title of individual and plural fields where the relationship between body and object is examined through physical and sensory relations. While the relationship between the human and its means and the physical extension tries to find a place for itself through art production practices, the studies involving the media involved in sensory extension aim to construct an interaction and sensation ground in which the effect of sensory extensions on the perceptual processes of the audience is experienced.
