In this thesis, the concepts of fantasy and illustration are studied together and the effect of fantasy literature on illustration is aimed to contribute to the literature. Literature and illustration have a tight relationship. Many texts refer to the illustration for purposes such as giving information to the reader about the content, drawing attention. There is a need for a literary type of illustration in which imaginative and abstract concepts dominate such as fantasy literature. Sometimes the narrator may not be able to describe the images by referring to the description and other words. At this point, the art of illustration comes into play. The utopian universes, creatures, everything outside of the usual form of fantasy that constitutes the content of fantasy, are almost alive with the art of illustration.The illustration, which is an effective method for explaining many fantastic edits in the world, has been used mostlyfor children's books in our country. This is undoubtedly due to the fact that most of the target audience of fantastic literature is formed by young people. However, the first version of most fantastic tales, stories and novels produced in the past and today is for adults. The works have been made oriented towards children by simplifying and waving. The main objective of this thesis study, together with the researches, examples and application part, is to reveal that the illustrations and visual contents used in e-books can be addressed to adults.In the traditional sense, the books have served the purposes of cultural transfer to humanity since the birth of civilization, and the persistence of information. The adventure of the books starting with the manuscript was accelerated by the presence of the printing press and continued with the developing printing techniques. Today, the last point in technology has changed the reading habits. Computers, tablets, types, and mobile devices in almost everyone's home have been preferred by reducing the costs while providing ease of transportation and transportation to many works. In these devices, the books have become interactive and are generally referred to as book applications. With its book applications, illustration, motion graphics, sound, effects and other interaction elements that work in different formats, it creates a new working area for many designers. While many book applications are produced for many of the classical works in the world, interactive book applications in our country are generally limited to the contents produced for the preschool education of children.This thesis consists of two parts and consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, the concept of illustration is explained to the barberby the historical development process and the production techniques are mentioned. The types of usage and types of approaches are explained with examples as separate headings and sub-headings.In the second chapter, fantastic concept is defined. The historical development process of fantastic in the world is examined in detail. The types of fantastic are defined by their artists. Fantastic literature describes as the world history of the development process of the development process in Turkey was also examined. The relationship between fantasy literature and illustration is explained by the works of successful artists who have produced works in this field. A detailed study of the style, design and technique used in the case studies and the contribution of fantastic illustration to literary works are mentioned.In the third chapter, information about interactive book applications is given. The differences between interactive book applications and electronic books are explained with definitions. The historical development of interactive book applications is discussed and their technical characteristics are examined. Edgar Allan Poe, the subject of the application, The Raven (Raven) fantastic-gothic poem has been examined formally and semantically. In the application part, the sketch works for the Raven poem were given with their explanations and an interactive book with the target audience of adults was made for Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven
