Özet
Despite all scientific acknowledge interstitial cystitis (bladder pain syndrome)remains unclear. Thus urologists face many difficulties diagnosing and treating this disease. Lack of knowledge about the aetiology causes inadequeate approaches for treatment thus leaves the patients with a diminished quality of life. Platelet rich plasma (PRP) has been vigorously researched and experiemented in the latest years and the therapeatic effect was literally approved by numerous studies. The autologous nature indicates decreased risk of side effects. Especially intraarticular use of PRP in sports injuries resulted in accelerated healing whereas this brought the idea of using this unique substance in the treatment of interstitial cystitis , a nightmare for both urologists and patients. We hope the results of our study will lead us to a better solution in this unresolved area of our clinical practise.
