Primer Mide Karsinomlarının Histomorfolojik Özelliklerine Göre Sınıflandırılması
Özet
Gastric carcinomas are tumors with high mortality rates, generally unfavorable prognosis and variable morphology. Despite the presence of several histomorphological classifications, no ideal classification exists. With the aim of designating a classification which has simple morphological parameters and algorithm, can be linked to patient prognosis and used in all gastric carcinomas, sections belonging to 335 patients that were operated between 10.11.2005-22.03.2012, whose gastric resection specimens were reported by the pathology department of Hacettepe University Medical Faculty were reviewed. According to the criteria formed during the study, primary gastric carcinomas were classified into early gastric carcinomas (33, 10%), signet ring cell carcinomas (76, 23%), mucinous carcinoma (13, 4%), mixed carcinomas (20, 6%), and other/rare carcinomas (51, 15%). Other/rare tumors consisted of special histomorphological types of carcinoma such as adenosquamous, medullary-like, lymphoepithelioma-like, etc. Histomorphological and demographic data of the cases were obtained. The most important factor affecting survival is tumor stage. The proposed diagnostic grouping of gastric carcinoma brings a simple and readily applicable algorithm for classifying the lesions of gastric materials resected for gastric carcinoma.
