Takım Sporları Yapan ve Spor Yapmayan 10-12 Yaş Çocukların Sosyal Beceri Düzeylerinin Karşılaştırılması

The aim of this study is to investigate the social skill levels of the students in the 10-12 age group who do team sports and do not sports. In the scope of the research, 234 (110 girls, 124 boys) students who were randomly selected and participated in the study voluntarily were chosen by the appropriate sampling method in the Çankaya district of Ankara province. The Personal Information Form which was created by the researcher and the 7-12 age Social Skill Assessment Scale (SSAS) developed in 2005 by Akçamete and Bacanlı were used as data collection tools. For the purposes of the study, t test, ANOVA analysis, Mann Whitney U test and Kruskall Wallis test were used. LSD post hoc test to determine the source of the difference with the meaningful results of ANOVA analysis, the results of Kruskal Wallis analysis were significant and nonparametric post hoc test was used to determine the source of the difference. According to the results of the analysis, there was a significant difference between the social skill levels of boys and girls who did team sports and didn't do sports, while they did team sports and they didn't do sports, sport branches (p <0.05), there was no significant difference between the ages of children and their social skills. The social skills of the children did in team sports were higher than those who did not do sports, when the branches are evaluated the sub-dimension of ‘’accepting results’’ in social skills of children who participate in volleyball is statistically higher than other branches. There were significant differences in the sub-dimensions when children who did team sports and didn't do sports were evaluated according to their gender and time. As a result, children should be directed to sporting activities in order to support their development process from a young age and girls should be involved in more sports.
