Anesteziyoloji ve Reanimasyon Yoğun Bakım Ünitesinde Izlenen Hastaların Aile Üyelerinin Memnuniyetinin Değerlendirilmesi
Özet
Intensive care units are getting more important in patient care. Several variables are defined to improve care quality in ICU. One of the most important criteria of care quality in ICU is family satisfaction. In our study we aimed to evaluate family satisfaction in our ICU with a validated family satisfaction survey. After getting ethical commitee approval, patients admitted in Hacettepe University Anestesiology and Reanimation ICU 1 & 2 between 01.06.2012 and 28.02.2013 were included in the study. During the time of this study 553 patients were admitted. 133 patients who meet the criteria were included in the study. Patients’ age, educational status, health insurance, additional diseases, cause of admission, duration of stay, coma status, mechanichal ventilator need, CPR need was recorded. Age, sex, relationship to the patient of the family members were recorded and also family members were asked to specify who gave them information about their patient, how many times and for how long they visited the patient. APACHE II scores of the patients were recorded in the first twenty-four hours of admission. Two verified forms were combined to assess family satisfaction. As a result we determined that family members of patients from different socio-cultural status and have different diagnosis, treatment and prognosis were highly satisfied from our ICU care. Family members were most
v
satisfied from “support” and “information” sub-parts. The least satisfactory topics were found to be “closeness”, “comfort” and “trust”. We think that in order to increase family satisfaction with ICU, visiting hours can be increased, family members can be more regularly and often informed and family meetings can be arranged at given intervals.
