Abstract

Divans which provide the existence and continuity of Turkish poetry are one of the basic works that form the sources of Turkish literature. Mahmud Fa’iz who among the 19th century poets, and his Divan make up the subject of tihs thesis work. It consists of introduction and three chapters. It was given Information about 19th century classical Turkish poetry. In the first chapter, the form, language and concent of the Divan are examined. In the third chapter, the transcribed text of the Divan is given. As a result of the researches, it was determined that the two odes of the Mahmud Fa’iz’s Divan were included in the odes of Kerküklü Fa’iz, who was one of the 19th century poets of the sam epen name. İt could not be clarified at this stage of the study which odes belong to Fa’iz. Which tihs study, Mahmud Fa’iz, one of the nineteenth-century poets, and his Divan are introduced to Turkish literature and contributed the history of literature.
