Sanatta Ölüm Kavramının Beden ve Cinsellik Üzerinden Deneyimlenmesi

In the study of Proficiency in Art, Artwork Report titled “Experimentation of The Concept of Death in Art by Means of Body and Sexuality”, different viewpoints on the direct or metaphorical correspondence of sexuality with man’s subconscious death instinct have been clarified; a number of philosophical studies on the concept of death have been discussed in the context of social relationships; the importance of the re-ascent of death to social freedom and awareness has been examined; and the reflections of all of these issues in art have been considered.
In the scope of this study, the natural structures of feminine and masculine elements, and the various interactions between these two elements have been detected; the co-occurrence of the periodic discrimination of female elements with the praise of male elements have been analyzed; and in addition to all this, the normal, paranormal, perverse and supernatural/strange relationships between female and male elements have been revealed. The human body in art and life, its sensitive structure, its layers, every incident it faced in a lifetime, and every perception or illusion experienced by its five senses have been scrutinized; opposing concepts such as pain and joy, desire and fear, violence and lust, static and dynamic, dead and alive, the observer and the observed, veiled and transparent, internal and external, defenseless and assailant, dependent and free, permissive and seizer, sovereign and obedient, etc. have been compared with the goal of bringing them into equilibrium. Furthermore, the very fact of life and death, which is the most absolute and fundamental principle of our existence; the strong death instinct that exists beyond the sensitive human structure; the taboo around death in primitive traditions; the subconscious yearning for death and its reflections in art have all been deliberated; and the psychological and auto-biographical effects of the schizophrenic and chaotic fragmentation of the current era have been analyzed in the context of art and artists.
Influenced by all the information and sensory perceptions that have been experienced throughout this study, the aim here is to bring the chaotic and the abject that lie beyond aesthetic issues into the forefront, and to emphasize various approaches to the victimization of female elements – which by their nature are passive, withdrawn, and prone to being submissive to the status quo – by their male counterparts, which again, by their nature are dominant, active and coercive. Practices that have been carried out within the framework of concepts illuminated in this study have been expressed through figurative, performative, and body art forms; through which all disconnections and fragmentations between opposing concepts have been exposed to the viewer and re-united.
