The severity of the Ottoman conquests on Hungarian territories increased from the year1521. The monarchy of Habsburg established a set of military-administrative zones in the border region with the Ottoman Empire within the wide geography lying from Adriatic sea to the Carpathian moutains with a view to ensure the security of the Inner Austrian Regions against these aggravating Turkish raids. All of these military-administrative zones were called Military Border Region. As for the Crotian Military Border Region, it is the core of that mosaic and the part on the farthest west. This core structure is a Balkan administration (foundation) in the geography between Adriatic Sea and Sava River which was established with the restructuring of the border defence system the Medieval Kingdom of Hungary had built before. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the organization of the Crotian Military Border Region which was established by the Monarchy of Habsburg against the Ottoman Bosnia. The military-administrative analysis of this organization has been treated (discussed) in terms of the structural changes that occurred in the Military Border Region as a result of the Ottoman raids. The political relations of two patrimonial world powers; military, social and socio-military dimensions have been analysed over the Crotian Military Border Region.
