Özet
In this study, how social mitigation and social responsibility practices are related to international conventions is addressed in connection with the concepts of sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
The aim of the study is to show how the people of the region perceive the social effects and the applications made by the large scale investment projects which are likely to create environmental and social impacts in the regions where they are applied.
The research was carried out through the example of the ongoing TANAP Project. Within this scope, semi-structured interviews were conducted with a total of 36 participants from Ankara Province, Gölbaşı District, Karagedik Neighborhood, Polatlı District Eskikarsak Neighborhood; Eskisehir Province, Günyüzü District KavuncuMahallesi, Odunpazarı District Akpınar Neighborhood; Bursa Province Mustafa Kemalpaşa District, Güllüce Neighborhood and Büyükorhan District, İsmetpaşa Neighborhood.
According to the results of the research, it is found that the applied investment projects have different effect levels. In the emergence of this difference, it was seen that the density of construction activities, the amount of affected land, the political opinion, the ownership of the land, the land value of the land and the square meter of the land were influential.
