The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of “Bilişsel Egzersiz Terapi Yaklaşımı” (BETY) on patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). A total of 31 patients, 21 female and 10 male, were included in the randomized controlled study and followed up for 8 weeks. Patients, were separated from study group (BETY) and control group (home program consisting of strengthening and stretching exercises). Patients' Extended Disability Status Scale (EDSS) scores ranged from 0-5,5. For the individuals participating in the study, 2 evaluations were performed before and after treatment. To evaluate for balance, Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Tandem Stance Time (TST), Time Up&Go Test (TUG), Functional Reach Test (FRT); for fatique Fatique Severity Scale (FSS), Fatique Impact Scale (FIS), 6 Minute Walking Test (6MWT); for pain, Visuel Analog Scale (VAS; morning, activity, night); for emotional statu, Beck Depression Scale (BDS), Beck Anxiety Scale (BAS); for quality of life, Multiple Sclerosis Quality of Life (MSQOL-54) were used. The study group were found to be statistically significant, with changes in improvement (p≤0.05). In the control group, there were significant changes BERG and FRT (p≤0.05) and there were no significant change in all other variables (p≥0.05). This study showed that BETY is an effective method in patients with MS symptoms on balance, fatique, pain, emotional statu and quality of life.
