Osmanlı Arşiv Belgelerinin Işığında Osmanlı-Meksika Diplomatik İlişkileri (1864-1913)

Abstract

Ottoman Empire and Mexico established the diplomatic and the commercial relations since the worldwide expansion of the developing global trade and the labor force migration that feeds this development in the second half of 19th century. Even though Mexico started this relationship with the reason of joining the trade of the Middle East, Ottoman Empire tried to have diplomatic relations with Mexico with the sense of protecting its' citizens due to their increased density of migration into the region. Just before the World War I, the Ottomans had signed the consular protocol with the leading Latin American countries including Mexico. The main aim of this thesis is to question the reasons and to understand the logic behind of these commercial and diplomatic relations in a chronological way. It is also thought that the thesis will reveal the reasons why Ottoman Empire and a Latin American country communicated.
