The aim of this research is to analyze coping and social support process in low-income women diagnosed with breast cancer. The sampling of the research includes low income-women with breast cancer. 110 women who were served or cured by Ankara Oncology Hospital Mamak and Keçiören Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation participated in the study. “Questionnaire Form”, “Social Support Scale” and “Coping Scale” methods were assessed as data collecting tools. Statistical analyses were done using SPSS 18 and T test, chi-square and spearman’s rho correlation tests were used for evaluation. The results states that when compared with other groups levels of perceived social support among breast cancer women was higher in primary school graduated women, married women whose husband had a regular job, women with social security, women that owns house and women without having kids. Results states that social support of family, neighbors and friends are also important factors in coping. Also it was found that substituted support on coping given by family, friends, relatives, neighbors had a stronger effect, while the state institutions, civil society, medical social work and psychologists could provide insufficient support. Low-income women with breast cancer who were primary school graduated and had no jobs were found to apply religious factors for coping.
