Çocuk Bakım Elemanlarının Bazı Özellikleri İle Sosyal Sorun Çözme Becerileri Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi: Amasya Çocuk Evleri Örneği
Özet
In this study the relationship between some characteristics of the child care personnel who work in the child houses and their social problem solving skills are examined. The examinations are performed with the care personnel who are employed at the Child Houses in Amasya due to the limitations with regard to time and opportunities. The “Interview form” and “Social Problem Solving Inventory” are used by the researcher as data collection tool.
As a result of this study, it is found that nearly all the child care personnel are women, there are 3 men who are employed in child care, average age of the personnel is 31, most of them are married and high school graduated; with regard to their income status the average monthly income is 2,000 TL, over half of them live in rented house and most of them live in the apartment house, their average working duration is 3 years and usually they have worked in jobs irrelevant to Ministry of Family and social work field.
Upon examining the characteristics of the child care personnel who are included in this study on relational basis; it is found that there is a significant relationship between the income of the child care personnel, working hours, number of the children, age status and Social Problem Solving Skill points, On the other hand point of child care personnel Social Problem Solving Inventory is medium level.
Through examining the child care personnel who are included in this study with regard to knowledge and skills that they used in cases, it is found that they have no knowledge about the processes required to be performed for diversified cases, the only thing that they can do is to inform the house supervisor, they have no effort to utilize their own knowledge and skills, they get rid of any responsibility through throwing all the responsibility to the house supervisor, they reach the information through their own efforts and non-professional ways, they mostly conduct the information sharing between themselves and other employees of the institution.
