TÜRKİYE’DE SAĞLIKTA DİJİTAL DÖNÜŞÜM SÜRECİ: AİLE SAĞLIĞI MERKEZLERİ ÜZERİNE BİR ALAN ARAŞTIRMASI

Abstract

This thesis aims to present the digital transformation process in family health centres from the perspective of family physicians. Today, the digital transformation process, which affects all sectors, leads to radical changes in family health centres that provide primary health care services. While the effectiveness and efficiency of an institution is considered to be directly proportional to its digital maturity level, it has become important to explain the digital transformation process of family health centers and the change they have experienced. In this study, the effects of the aforementioned change are revealed in the light of the data obtained from the opinions of family physicians. The study is conducted using phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research methods. The opinions of family physicians are collected through semi-structured interview technique and analyzed by content analysis method. As a result of the content analysis according to the opinions of family physicians, the digital transformation process was analyzed under 4 themes: its effects on the health services provided, its effects on physicians, the role of policy makers, and physicians' suggestions and complaints. The research findings help to see the effects of digital transformation on family health services and family physician’s experience. It may also help policy makers and public administrators to evaluate the process and develop new strategies and practices.
