Orta Yetişkinlikte Benlik Saygısı, Hayatın Anlamı Ve Psikososyal Uyum Arasındaki Ilişkiler: Meme Kanseri Hasta Örneklemi.
Özet
The main purpose of this study is to examine the predictors of meaning in life in middle aged women who were diagnosed with breast cancer, and to investigate the mediating role of subscales of meaning in life (presence of meaning and searching for meaning) on the relations between self-esteem and psychosocial adjustment. This study was conducted with 127 women aged between 40-65. They were diagnosed with breast cancer who were either undergoing a treatment or coming to the hospital for their follow-up appoinments in the ambulatory clinics of the Department of Medical Oncology, Faculty of Medicine in Hacettepe University. Meaning in Life Questionnaire, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Psychological Well-Being Scale, and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support were administered to the participants. The findings revealed that social support, age, time elapsed since diagnosis, and perceived income level positively predicted presence of meaning.
