In this research, it was aimed to comparatively examine the evaluations of managers and physicians working in public and private hospitals regarding the implementation and adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHR). Accordingly, two public hospitals with a digitalization level of 7 and 6 in line with the HIMSS-EMRAM criteria and one private hospital in Izmir province were identified. A questionnaire consisting of 32 questions was applied by the researcher to 40 managers and 162 physicians working in the hospitals using face-to-face interviews. The relationship between the independent categorical variables was examined with the Chi-Square test, and in cases where the Chi-Square expected value assumption was not met, Fisher's Exact Chi-Square test was used in 2x2 tables and Freeman-Halton Fisher's Exact Chi-Square test was used in nxm tables. Mann Whitney-U test was used to evaluate the differences between groups in terms of continuous variables. As a result of the analysis, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference between the evaluations of the participants in public and private hospitals that there were not enough resources to finance the ESK program in our hospital (U=3237.50;p<0.001). There were statistically significant differences between the evaluations of the participants in hospitals with a digitalization level of 7 and 6 about the availability of a computerized system containing patient demographic information (p<0.05), nurse notes (p<0.001), physician notes (p<0.01), medication lists (p<0.01) and clinical guidelines (p<0.05) in the hospital where they work. There were statistically significant differences between the evaluations of administrators and physicians on the topics of I plan to improve my computer skills with appropriate training to be more successful in my job (U=2211;p≤0,001), I think the EHR system will be more useful in transferring patient information and communicating with other hospitals (U=2425;p<0,01) and the EHR system improves workflow (U=2523,50;p≤0,01). The findings highlight that there are differences between public and private hospitals in terms of the adequacy of financial resources in terms of implementation and adoption of EHR, the adequacy of having a relevant computerized system in terms of differences in the level of digitalization, and finally, according to the evaluations of managers and physicians, computer skills, processes of transferring patient information and information sharing between hospitals.
