Türk Sporcularında Sporcu Diyet İndeksinin Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Çalışması
Özet
This study was conducted to determine the diet quality of Turkish athletes and to examine the relationship between diet quality and eating attitudes by ensuring the validity and reliability of the Athlete Diet Index (ADI), the only diet quality index that aims to assess diet quality in athletes. The final version of the ADI, which was created after translations (n=5+2), expert opininon (n=10) and pilot study (n=15), was applied to 151 proffesional athletes aged 16-40 years who had been licensed for at least 2 years, but 15 athletes who dropped out of the study for various reasons were not included in the evaluation. For validity analysis, the relationship between the ADI and the scores obtained from 2-day Food Consumption Records (FCR) was analyzed; for reliability analysis, the relationship between the initial ADI score and the ADI scores reapplied to 44 athletes who agreed to participate in the study after 3 weeks was examined. The eating attitudes of the athletes were evaluated with Eating Attitude Test-26 (EAT-26). All applications were performed face to face and accompanied by the researcher. As a result of the analyses, the ADI was found to be a valid (r=0.798 , p<0.001) and reliable (95% CL, ICC:0.79) scale that can asses the diet quality of Turkish athletes. As a result of the study, it was found that ADI did not differ in age, gender, individual or team sports (p>0.05), but weight bearing athletes had lower diet quality than non-weight bearing athletes (p=0.01). It was also noted that gender and sport type did not significantly affect EAT-26 (p>0.05). In addition, no significant relationship was found between diet quality and eating attitudes (p>0.05).
