Kesikli Yaşam Süresi Modelleri
Özet
The survival analysis is a statistical research method dealed with the dur
ati
on
of a
unit
from the beginni
ng of observation until the interested
event takes place.
Survival
analysis
which is
used in the social and
physical sciences
, can also be used
in
epidemiology and medical sciences intensively.
Various statistical methods
differ than
classical methods
have been used in survival analysis.
I
n the studies related survival
time modeling, it is usually assumed that the observed
process is completely continuous. However,
this assumption is not appropriate for most
of the survival time data structure. Because of this assumption, survival times are
measured wrongly and
unreliabl
e results are obtained for the discrete survival time
datas. In this situation discrete time survival models should be used which has been
developed for the modeling of discrete surviva
l time data
.
Continu
ous
time survival models used for the time datas ha
ve represented the structure
of
data in the
studies
regarding
health sciences
.
The usage of the discrete time survival
models in the social sciences is more common
since the structure of the studied data
is more appropriate for the discrete models.
In this
study,
discrete time survival models
are examined theoretically and
were applied
to “Research on Domestic Violence against Women in Turkey, 2008”
data received

from
Turkish Statistical Institute. In order to e
xamine the divorce risk of women
,
classical su
rvival models as well as
discrete time survival models
have been used and
achieved results have been evaluated
