Dressing is one of the basic needs of humankind. Throughout its historical adventure, this action has continued to change until today by going through certain processes. Undoubtedly, fabric takes the lead to serve this need among the most common and accessible objects. Throughout the known history of humanity, mankind created civilizations in environments surrounded not only by naturally occurring objects but also by man-made objects, developed various type of cultures and values. The object has become prevalent and valid element for the art, which can be defined as creating a narrative and bringing it into existence in another form, and its history. In this matter, it can be seen that fabric has a place in art as an object. It is observed that fabric has appeared, both as a material and as an art object itself, in many stages in the history of art. The acceptance of daily use objects as works of art began with Marcel Duchamp in 1917. Duchamp’s revolutionary understanding of what work of art is not only revealed new appearances of the ready-made object, but also paved the way for producing art by not showing, hiding and covering the object itself. This thesis focuses on the problem of re-showing the invisible processes of today's people's living habits through works of art. The actions blocking/covering which are the primary intended use of fabric will be applied to the works of art with an ironic approach. It is aimed to make visible the ignored or overlooked aspects of contemporary human activities through the works of art produced within the concept of the thesis.
