Ataerkil İdeolojinin Toplumsal Cinsiyet Çerçevesinde Ortopedik Engelli Kadın ve Erkeklerin Deneyimlerine Yansımaları
Özet
The purpose of this study is to analyze the experiences of handicapped women
and men in the framework of gender. In this respect, it is aimed to describe how
the evaluations of disabled women are shaped in the realization of gender roles
and what are the determinants of disabled women's experiences. In the study,
in depth interviews between 15.01.2017-15.02.2017 were done with 10 women
and 10 men who apply to attend the vocational courses which are organized
from the Corum Municipality Handicapped Education Centre or to get psychosocial
support from mentioned centre. It can be said that the orthopedically
handicapped women participants of this research are having difficulties in
education, employment, family/married lives and in their social relations
encountering discrimination due to their handicaps and society’s sexist
approaches. The orthopedically disabled men who participated in the research
are thinking that they are discriminated against because of physical
environmental conditions.
