Cultural heritage is the sum of the various influences on an individual that, from a certain point in time, influence that person's voice, opinions, and ideas to others. Tangible culture includes artifacts, monuments, a number of buildings and places, and museums of various values of symbolic, historical, artistic, aesthetic, ethnological or anthropological, scientific and social significance. This includes landscapes, books, works of art, and other tangible items. Likewise, intangible culture includes intangible expressions such as language, beliefs, customs, rituals, music and dance. Natural heritage includes culturally significant landscapes and biodiversity, thereby ensuring the protection of natural environments and the sustainability of important areas of ecosystems.
Cultural heritage is important because it provides people with a sense of identity and continuity. It helps people understand how they have shaped their past and present. It also helps people understand other cultures and how they contribute to the world we live in today.Cultural heritage is an important aspect of video games. When we talk about “cultural heritage games”, we mean digital games that represent cultural heritage in any form, tangible or intangible, natural or man-made, and have mechanics and dynamics for cultural heritage relationship. These can be screen-based games, virtual reality or augmented reality games.
Video games can be considered not only as a cultural heritage that needs to be protected, but also as a tool that serves the purpose of protecting cultural heritage.Therefore, video games are an important and integral part of modern cultural heritage and they themselves need conservation efforts. This study explores video games as a modern tool for presenting cultural heritage by integrating art, storytelling and digital technology, and presents the necessary research to present shadow play in the digital gaming environment and carries out the design output through an application.
