Memory has the power to store and recall in the mind what has been experienced
or learned. "Personal Memory" represents a more specific and individual aspect of
memory. The phrase "Memory of Color and Image" emphasizes that colors and
images strongly connect with memories.
This study report observes how artists' private lives and psychological states are
reflected in colors. In addition, the effect of colors on emotions is examined. It is
emphasized that large empty spaces painted with colors create personal thought
practices in the viewer and thus create dreamlike atmospheres in the receiver. In
addition, the concept of image is also discussed in terms of the reflection of
psychology, and it is stated that it can be used as an essential tool in powerful
metaphorical depictions of emotions. Among the findings obtained as a result of the
analysis, it is seen that the concept of imagery also has an essential effect on the
process of remembering.
The main focus of the report is to provide a detailed analysis of the concepts of color
and image and to explore the aspects of the images and colors in the works
produced during the study report that are relevant to the episodic memory of images
and colors in personal archaeology. These analyses aim to reveal the relationship
of specific images and colors to the art practices produced during the thesis process.
Furthermore, in order to make the subject more comprehensible, examples of artists
who have realized their works with this understanding are presented.
