Abstract

Today there are tens of sovereign welth funds and their number is building up. Although there is a huge literature on the subject itself, many of them are narrowly concentrating only on the economic features of the funds. This study, however, not only examines the economic features of the funds but also investigates their fuction in the process of internationalization. In this regard, the internationalization processes are seperated into two categories, as capital and state, followingly are reviewed by taking into consideration their effects on the state. As followed by the analysis of the actual structure of international division of labour, the sovereign wealth funds are compared on the basis of the separation of the political and economic spheres within the social formations they exist in. The comparison is made between the funds of Norway and Kuwait, Saudi Arabid, Abu Dhabi as they have the same source regarding their funds but differet structures of state. As a result, the effects of the use of the same economic apparatus in a different way on the interternationalization process are put.
