The number of studies that related to teaching and learning Turkish as a foreign language demonstrate rising every passing day. One of the study is, with using original and literary texts student’s reading, writing, listening and speaking skills can be improved. In foreign languages lessons, rather than using simplified or artificial texts, original texts should be included that develop the communicative skills of students and also students can learn the target language as a whole. Accordingly, we have examined to story usage from original and literary texts in lessons of teaching Turkish to foreigners. The target of our study is; with using story in the course on activities for students who learn Turkish as a foreign language at the B2 level, to develop students writing skill. And also we aimed that teachers can benefit from ready activities in our study in their writing lessons. In our research, the use of literary texts in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language is generally carried out with the textbooks in the curriculum. From the curriculum books at the B2 level, we have examined Ankara University TÖMER’s Yeni Hitit 2, Gazi University TÖMER’s Yabancılar İçin Türkçe B2, İstanbul University Language Center’s İstanbul Yabancılar İçin Türkçe Ders Kitabı and Yunus Emre Institute’s Yedi İklim Türkçe Öğretim Seti B2. The ratios of the literary texts used in these books have been determined and answered where the story is used in the course are also examined. As a result of our study, it has been seen that using stories in class activities to students who learn Turkish as a foreign language helps to develop writing skills and also student’s motivations increase in class.
