Özet
This thesis gives information about the relationship between fashion and graphic design and between fashion portfolios and illustrations which are shaped by interdisciplinary collaboration.
The first section summarises the historical process of fashion and fashion illustration. It also gives examples of important changes that fashion illustration underwent by referring to the concepts fashion illustration and illustrator.
The second section presents portfolios in the field of design and portfolio types categorised according to their applications. By giving detailed information about fashion portfolios used by artists, stylists, photographers and illustrators as presentation tools to display their works, the characteristics of fashion portfolios that differ from other fields of design are mentioned. The sections that display the most important characteristics such as fashion sketches, storyboards and material samples are examined through portfolios prepared in different styles and for different purposes and the strengths of these examples are underlined.
The third section which seeks to answer how a fashion portfolio should be prepared gives information about the points to consider, the procedures and the rules to follow in the portfolio design process.
The fourth section of the thesis presents a fashion portfolio template designed in line with the examined fashion portfolios. The aim is to help professionals and students prepare fashion portfolios that are compliant with the main rules of portfolio design and are aesthetically appealing.
