Adnan Veli Kanık'ın Türk Yazınındaki Yeri

Adnan Veli Kanık is one of the neglected authors in Turkish literature. The number of studies on her is negligible and her biographies are repetitive. Adnan Veli, who mostly gave his works between 1950 and 1970, has seven printed books. His story books Mapusane Cesmesi, Sosyete, Ucan Daireler, Kaynana, Secim Konusmalari and his biographical work Orhan Veli Için were published while the author was alive. His work named Istanbul Batakhaneleri was compiled by Turgut Ceviker and published in 2018. In the studies I have done within the scope of the thesis, it has been determined that Adnan Veli has nearly a thousand stories, hundreds of newspaper anecdotes, dozens of columns, which remain in newspapers and magazines and are waiting to be brought to light, and two novels named Yandan Akiyor Yandan and Askin Kamciladıgi Isyan. Adnan Veli, who used pseudonyms such as Veli, Mehmet Yanık, A Lawyer in his first writings, published his articles in publications such as Vatan, Akbaba, Tef, Yeni Tanin, Gunaydın, Dolmus, Tas-Karikatur, Papagan. This thesis, named Adnan Veli Kanık's Place in Turkish Literature, consists of an introduction, two main parts and a conclusion. In the introduction, studies about Adnan Veli and Adnan Veli's life are discussed, and a brief introduction is made about his art and works. In the first part, Adnan Veli's journalist identity and newspaper articles were discussed, and the contribution of his journalism to his literary identity was examined. In the second part, detailed information was given about the works of the author, his works of fiction were evaluated thematically and structurally, and his literary quality was tried to be revealed. In the conclusion part, the reasons why Adnan Veli Kanık remained in the background in Turkish literature were discussed and his works were evaluated in terms of his contribution to various fields.
