Today, the family institution in the global world; It is at risk due to technological developments, consumption habits, difficulties brought by economic and social conditions. Although studies are carried out at the policy level to establish, manage and support the family institution in a healthy way, the phenomenon of divorce may occur as a result of the shaking of the family system together with the difficulties brought by the conditions. The legal termination of the marriage union can only be realized by the family courts, which are specialized courts.
During the court process, it is a necessity to collect legal evidence about the family. In addition, the family court undertakes duties and responsibilities in protecting the interests of the parties and especially the children, securing their future, examining the psychological, social, economic and spiritual factors that will be created by the divorce process, while also dealing with types of cases such as adoption, establishment of personal relations and regulation of the right of custody. produces solutions. The support of social workers, as well as the roles and functions of social workers on the basis of the social investigation process, is very important in the psycho-social treatment of the aforementioned factors within the scope of family court. The purpose of this research; The aim of this study is to determine the opinions and evaluations of social work practitioners and academics regarding the social review process that directly affects the cases in family courts and how they perceive the process. In this study, the multiple case study design, which is handled under the interpretive paradigm within the framework of qualitative research, was used. Data were collected by conducting in-depth interviews with experts and academicians with a semi-structured interview form and thematic analysis was applied with the help of NVivo 12 program.
In summary, the results of the research will be possible to reflect the social investigation process in the social investigation reports effectively and functionally only if it is carried out by social workers. In addition to the individual, family and child-oriented approach, the social review process should be handled in a structure that looks at interactions with the social environment. In addition to the development of professional knowledge, values, observation and synthesis skills within the institutional structure, the use of academic staff by experts will positively affect the process. It has emerged that the functionality of the social review process will be perceived by all judicial system actors and will contribute positively to the parties and children, and that the Ministry of Justice should take part in studies aimed at supporting and increasing the quality of the working conditions, personal rights and social review process of the experts
